What we welcome

Pitch pieces about songcraft, performance, recording, albums or listening habits. A strong proposal has one focused idea, a clear reader benefit and a distinct angle rather than a broad tour of an artist or genre.

Make the pitch specific

Tell us the working subject, the central question and what the reader will be able to notice or understand. Explain any specialist terms in plain language, and identify recordings or versions that matter to your proposal.

Originality and care

We look for original work that treats musicians and listeners fairly, distinguishes opinion from fact and does not depend on unsupported claims. Please disclose relevant commercial interests or relationships in your proposal.
